Animal Health Associates has been serving the community of Central Michigan since 1989. Drs. Alex Imlay and Larry Judge opened our first office in an old feed store on M20. The clinic consisted only of two small exam rooms, a surgery room, and a kennel room.
In the spring of 1992 AHA built a new office at our current location on Pickard Road. The original building had a reception area, radiology room, lab area, two large exam rooms, kennel room and surgery room. In 2000 an addition was built that provided an isolation ward, larger kennel room, surgery suite, treatment area, doctors office and large animal stocks in the garage.
AHA expanded to a three full-time doctor practice in 2005, then again to four doctors in 2015. These changes over the last 20 years have allowed Animal Health Associates to continue to offer quality veterinary medicine in a compassionate and energetic atmosphere. Again in 2020 AHA expanded adding another doctor as well as adding 3 more exam rooms and an updated and expanded reception area.

I just want to say a huge Thank You to Dr. Rousseau and her assistant today. Thank you for being so comforting to myself and my beloved Lilli. Today was definitely a heart breaking day, but your compassion eased the pain a little.
Thank you for what you do as I know it must be tough for you also.
Thanks to everyone in the staff.Everyone is so kind.I have had nothing but good experiences each time I came into the office.I appreciate your care for all my babies.
Thank you Dr. Alex Imlay for always being our #1 go to vet! Our emergency visits always end up better than expected! We highly recommend AHS!

Are you ready to ring in the New Year with some new tricks to teach your dog or cat? Yes--cats can learn tricks, and they’re rather good at it! January is “Train Your Pet Month”. You can celebrate with your best friend by teaching them a few new moves to impress the neighbors. It’s also a great time to make an appointment with our clinic to work on breaking some bad habits if you’re concerned about new or recurring behaviors that are getting in the way of the bond you share.
Don’t let your pet “fall” into some of the most common safety hazards we see this time of year. Fall may be the most beautiful season to some, but there are unique risk factors you can prepare for. If you’re anything like most people, you breathe easier this time of year.
August is here, bringing plenty of sunshine and joy. Do you know what else August provides pet parents? A chance to take a moment and meditate on your dog’s health. That’s right! August is National Immunization Awareness Month, or as we like to think of it: “National Protect Your Pets and Help Them Live a Long and Happy Life Month” - but that’s a bit of a mouthful!
