Animal Health Associates has been serving the community of Central Michigan since 1989. Drs. Alex Imlay and Larry Judge opened our first office in an old feed store on M20. The clinic consisted only of two small exam rooms, a surgery room, and a kennel room.
In the spring of 1992 AHA built a new office at our current location on Pickard Road. The original building had a reception area, radiology room, lab area, two large exam rooms, kennel room and surgery room. In 2000 an addition was built that provided an isolation ward, larger kennel room, surgery suite, treatment area, doctors office and large animal stocks in the garage.
AHA expanded to a three full-time doctor practice in 2005, then again to four doctors in 2015. These changes over the last 20 years have allowed Animal Health Associates to continue to offer quality veterinary medicine in a compassionate and energetic atmosphere.

COVID-19 AND CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Due to limited space in our facility during our ongoing renovations and in order to maintain the health and safety of our staff and clients we are requiring all visitors to call our office from the parking lot for admittance. During this time we are also unable to board any pets for our clients unless determined medically necessary by the doctors.
Shopping for your pet’s medications is now easier than ever before. Automatic monthly shipments can be set up for most medications including monthly heartworm and flea and tick preventatives.
The dog days of summer are here. For many, this season comes with endless possibilities for having fun with your pets, like picnics, nature walks, and swimming pools. After being stuck at home for so long due to COVID-19, we bet you’re looking to break up the boredom with some outdoor adventures.
While COVID-19 quarantines continue across the country, you may be spinning your wheels to stay busy, productive, and positive. Luckily, our pets provide a great deal of comfort and companionship despite the isolation and stress caused by the Novel Coronavirus. As dogs and cats get used to having you at home, you may need to add some new activities to your repertoire to help keep them busy and make the most of your time together.
Are you ready to ring in the New Year with some new tricks to teach your dog or cat? Yes--cats can learn tricks, and they’re rather good at it! January is “Train Your Pet Month”. You can celebrate with your best friend by teaching them a few new moves to impress the neighbors. It’s also a great time to make an appointment with our clinic to work on breaking some bad habits if you’re concerned about new or recurring behaviors that are getting in the way of the bond you share.
